There is we have described how you can easily truing your bike tire. This is really a simple task. So you do not need to worry just check our guidelines and solve the problem so go ahead, buddy.
Today, I’d like to solve this little problem. Now I hope you manage the bike stand as I do and this will look seems to be completely out of true, but the wheel is just perfectly in line.
All the spokes are evenly tightened. There is no problem with the wheel whatsoever and this is also important to know how to true a bike wheel.
That’s the tire that doesn’t really. Fit here or doesn’t go in line with the wheel and I’m doing this episode because a couple of days ago and a friend of mine came to me and I was doing some maintenance of her bike and I saw the rear wheel with a bike trainer.
Specific tire and the wheel or the tire would go up and down for like three or four millimeters.
That’s a lot up to and down like four millimeters. It can really damage the tire. It can also damage the bearings on the wheel and especially on the roller and I was surprised that the wheel was solved and assembled to the bike in the bike store.
The other story is also that I had a flat tire on my Canada, cat 10 also because, uh, the tire wasn’t assembled as it should be.
I just assembling the bike because I bought the bike new out of the box and so seems like mounting the tire on the wheel.
It seems to be so simple that we don’t do it. So what’s the problem here and how can we avoid this problem or fix one. If we have one now the tire has to fit very well to the rim.
I’m going to show you the tire and the rim. That’s the road-specific tire and the Crossmark’s Xcel, but it doesn’t matter as you can see the tire here on the side.
The sidewall ends up with the beat here and it’s as you can see, it’s thicker than the wall of the tire. And that’s the part of the tire that is supposed to lock on the rim and the rim.
Also, if we look at the sidewalls of the rim, it’s difficult to see this one is black. Uh, but the sidewalls aren’t just straight.
They have some bed conditions here the and the rim should be fixed quickly. When you are pumping the wheel then the tire goes up.
Finally, we can hear some clique or any, other kind of noise and that means that the tire is in the place. Now, different tires with different dreams can be less or more problematic one thing that basic thing that we should know here is that simply putting the tire on the way like the inner tube and the tire.
Pumping just straight to the pressure that we want to have on the tire is wrong because the tire will most likely be.
At least a little bit out of truth and so what should we do as you can see? I have just a little bit of pressure on my tire and it was trying to make it not right here.
You can see one side of the tires is going ups and down and It is it’s dangerous. It doesn’t give us as much traction as it could be as it should be giving us.
So, what we have to do is to find this a little line on the, on the tire, on the sidewall. As you can see here, it’s visible, then it comes into the rim and we don’t see it.
Now we can say it again. So what we do with the tire and when there is so little pressure, I don’t know, maybe it’s around 15, 20 PSI, something like that.
You don’t have to know that you will just feel that you’re able to move the tire on the rim in the rim. And I’m trying now simply to fit the tire correctly on both sides.
All the tires will have any kind of line, some kind of line or markers here so that you will see whether it sits right or not. And this one now sits quite right.
We have true also that the tire isn’t pressing, pressing against the inner tube and I mean that the inner tube isn’t like going under the beat of the tire.
That was the problem with my Cannondale and eventually, the tire rubbing against the inner tube and make a, made some holes and I got a flat tire, so it was wrong.
It was wrong from the very beginning and it was just made by the guy who was assembling the bike. All right. So now I think I’m ready for pumping as I said there can be fewer or more problems with different sets of the bike tire and the rim.
If it doesn’t work for you, it’s also okay to take some, some water with any kind of, uh, foam, like you can use like some, you know, washing dishes, liquid, and then just what those sidewalls of the tire and the tire will just slide against the rim.
Isn’t it? I hope that we’ll hear now any kind of clicking into place. It won’t, it won’t give us any noise. If it’s already in the place and I think we just did it so well that it’s already in place.
There was, there was one little click. We’ve got like 50 PSIS now and let’s just take how, the way it looks like and I think it will be just great.
Exactly beautiful. So, as I said, we shouldn’t be pumping from zero to what do we want to have? BSIS just at once we should stop at some 10 or 15 PSIS and try to feed the tire correctly.
If it doesn’t work for you and you can also wet the sidewalls and It’s kind of tiring. This pumping thing and then when you hear this noise of locking up between the rim and the tire and that means it’s already in place and it should be working for you.
Even if you have a new bike, just check whether the tire goals are correct. If it’s not possible to fit the tire, I would simply just send it back to the bike store because the tire should be fitting correctly in the rim.
It means safety for us. It means better traction and also longevity on the tire.
